The Twins Arrived

Baby A, Male, "Shock" "Evan Michael" 4lbs 12ozs 17.5" 1:34pm 3-21-2004

Baby B, Female, "Awe" "Nolette Mae" 4lbs 11ozs 18.5" 1:37pm 3-21-2004

Evan and Nolette entered our lives with strong crying on March 21, 2004. The birth was an exciting and challenging process. They decided to come a little early (at 33 weeks and 6 days to be exact) and on the day of their baby shower. We were blessed that after the shower (that Kirsten did not attend) the family and friends attending the shower were able to join us at the hospital and lend the support we greatly needed. There are many medical challenges with babies born this early, but they took them in stride and surprising everyone with their strength. It was decided to put Evan on a ventilator to help him with his breathing and give medicine to help his little lungs; he responded well to this treatment. Nolette (who likely decided she had been cramped too long and kicked her brother out of the womb early) did very well with her breathing.   Because of their early gestational age, they spent 2 weeks in the NICU at Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua, NH.

Kirsten did very well and was up and around 2 hours after the delivery. From water breaking to delivery of Evan was 7 hours and 4 minutes with only 1 hour of active labor! Kirsten and I wish to thank everyone for their love and support on this challenging and joyous day.
